At Clove Villa, you are welcomed with such warmth and genuine kindness. It is a stunning hotel with incredibly lovely people. Before our stay, we had contact about train tickets and any other help we might need—nothing was ever too much to ask. It’s a peaceful, calm oasis in the bustling city of Kandy. The location is slightly outside the city center, which we actually appreciated. You can reach the city in just 10–15 minutes by tuk-tuk—this is absolutely no problem and very easy to arrange, so there’s really no reason not to book. The interior is beautiful, the room was wonderful, and the shower was absolutely perfect. You can take a swim (weather permitting), and there are lovely outdoor spots to sit and relax. The people truly deserve a special mention. They are so warm, friendly, and helpful. They think along with you, arrange anything you need, and go above and beyond. Without them, this place wouldn’t have been half as special (even though it already looks stunning and is very comfortable).

The peace and quiet. The wonderful staff, particularly Anush(?) the cheap and major domo of the property, overseeing everything to make sure it was perfect. Before coming here we ate in some of the best restaurants in Colombo - The Art Gallery Cafe, Gini and the Galle Face Hotel - Anush’s cooking was superior in every way. The two Sri Lankan meals he prepared for us were authentic and amazing. Top marks! We also loved the pool, clean water and refreshing atmosphere and private,

The property was immaculate - we had 3 rooms, 2 garden double rooms and the suite with the hot tub. Every room was stunning, especially the suite. Any of the rooms would be a privilege to stay in. The team at the hotel were incredible - from the welcome when you arrive to the food that was cooked at the hotel it was incredible. Word of warning - the portion sizes are huge and delicious so make sure you are very hungry when you order!

I liked all! Magical property, I did not want to leave. I stayed more, than was planned. This is the villa totally local style, everything in villa is customised. Small design detailes even. Old atlas of Sri Lanka, books about Budda. I came at 4 am, 2 persons were waiting for me, serving tea! In holy hight! Rooms are magical, nothing is from wholesale market. Cleaning is every 10 minutes. Pool is clean, mango trees on the territory. Chef is perfect, cooking meal speacially for you! Prices are low !!! Even on gas station food can be more expensive. Customised soap with fragrance of spices!!! Shaving kits, tooth brushes, all provided. PIANO MUSIC playing in the villa. I can not recomend this place more!!!!! Opposite villa there is big hotel, but its not even in comparison with villa Clove - in Clove you are happy to come back !!!! Thank you, dear people of Villa clove!

This place is a must when in Kandy. In fact, we'd specifically want to go back to Kandy just to go to this hotel again and enjoy the peacefulness and AMAZING food. We've already been to a number of hotels and restaurants in Sri Lanka, and while we've sampled superb dishes, Umesh's talents in the kitchen remain unparalleled. Kudos, sir!! In terms of location, the hotel is easy access to the city, but also is in a calm area surrounded by sounds of birds and squirrels hopping around in the trees across. Everything was very clean, comfortable, and lux. The clove shower gel and soap were also a smart touch. Finally, the staff at any place are always a critical contributor to the overall experience. At Clove Villa, Danushka and Umesh were the clincher. Both were so polite, friendly, professional, and always ready to go above and beyond to accommodate any requests. Thank you both!

Clove Villa is a boutique hotel and a special place with lovely and extremely helpful staff. On leaving, we wanted to visit the botanical gardens and then go straight to the train station. The problem was what to do with all our luggage in the meantime (there being no left luggage facility at the station). The Manager (most unfortunately I have mislaid his name) volunteered to take our luggage down to the station (a 15 minute drive) and meet us there! He then happily spent the next 20 minutes helping me find an ATM which worked. There is a pleasant pool at the back of the hotel. We also played pool before an excellent dinner (and no corkage charge for my bottle of wine). Eating in really suited us as otherwise we would have to go into the city centre and I very much doubt we would have had as good a dinner.

Absolute pleasure from beginning to start. We stayed here aa part of our twoo week honeymoon travel. At Clove Villa you will feel so welcome and taken care off, that you’ll get an instant holiday feeling. The staff is probably one of the nicest people we’ve had in a hotel so far. Danushka made sure we were never short on anything, prepared some seats at rhe pool for us and brought our wine at the pool after a long day of hiking. In the kitchen Chef Umesh and his trainees Pradip and Dilan prepared some of the best Sri Lankan food we’ve had. I was so in awe of the food that I asked Umesh if he would give me a cooking class. The next day I stood by him in the kitchen for more than 2 hours, watching him prepare our dinner whilst he explained every step and showed me different kinds of spices and herbs. We cannot thank the whole team enough!! Clove villa will be on our top list of hotels and experiences and we would LOVE to come back!!

We loved our stay at Clove Villa. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated. The bed was comfortable and we had the best sleep since the rooms are quiet and removed from the street. A big plus is the level of hospitality. You're met with cold towels and fresh juice on arrival and nothing is too much with every interaction warm and helpful. The absolute highlight for us was the dinner - we had Sri Lankan curries and a chicken salad. The quality of ingredients was high and every element was delicious. We'll remember our stay here forever!

Well furnished and comfortable rooms. Immaculately clean, and they couldn’t be any more helpful, resetting our room everytime we went out. Lovely breakfast, and a modest pool which we had to ourselves every day. We only eat breakfast here, and opposite is a large hotel where you can pay to go in and have their extensive buffet for dinner if you don’t want to drive into town.
